I need help with my career planning...nurse?

i really want to become a nurse. but everyone in my family is trying to talk me out of it. they say i can do better than that. and they aren't making me change my mind. i would just like to get them to understand how i feel. i love to help people. i don't think i'm fit for a doctor. maybe i should try a speciality. that might work. can anyone tell me some good websites that i can go to that can give me a quiz to help me figure out what i should do? i already have. careerplanning.com and that one they give with the ACT test.

  2. volunteer at at a hospital. you will meet many nurses and see all the medical jobs there.
  3. If you think you want to be a nurse, don't let anyone talk you out of it. There is nothing not respectable about being a nurse, in fact it is a well-respected profession in this day and age. But many people (like your family members perhaps) still have a vision of nurses as being like the doctor's handmaidens who go around wiping butt all day. It's so much more complex than that - otherwise you wouldn't need a college degree to do it. Good luck!
