- If you suspect you've been turned down for a position because of your weight, don't plan to get better treatment by going to court. It's true that female flight attendants sacked by Chicago-based United Airlines six years ago for being overweight won a class-action suit against the carrier in June. But United has appealed the judgment and the case is expected to drag on for several more years.
