How does career counseling work? I need a new direction.?

1. You go and talk to a counselor. You two discuss what things you like to do, how do you see yourself in the future and what kind of lifestyle would you like to have. Example: If you like meeting new people, going to new places and so forth, you may look for a career in business. If you're looking for a laid-back career, like art and prefer to work alone, a career in a gallery or museum might be better. Good luck!
2. they may also give you tests (such as Myer-Briggs Type Indicator) that can determine your personality type and then they look at their database to see in which field the people of the same type are most satisfied.
